1983 (10) Fairs - DGT 'Special' - Exhibition, Garden City, Letchworth H/S

Highly unusual DGT 'Special' - Exhibition, Garden City, Letchworth H/S.

This cover was originally was used for the 1983 Gardens issue by DGT on their Official - but this H/S for the 'Fairs' issue (which was the following issue) was a very late announcement and the only blank cover they had to hand appears to be this one, so they used this for the H/S - and only 15 were ever serviced......

As far as I am aware this H/S wasn't even listed it for many years after the issue date, as none were thought to have been serviced (because it was meant to be used on an 'event' cover for the Exhibition).....

DGT didn't sponsor the H/S, so it's not an 'Official', but it looks good enough to be one !

It is appropriately numbered on the back.... this one is number 5 of 15.........
